O Teatro Dolby foi palco para a 90ª edição de entrega dos prémios da Academia. Numa award season marcada pelos escândalos Weinsteinianos, a passadeira vermelha mais aguardada do ano voltou a brilhar, desta vez com vestidos coloridos em homenagem aos movimentos Time's Up e #Metoo.

“Uma alegre diversidade de cores”, assim foi descrita a passadeira vermelha dos Óscares no Instagram da iniciativa Time’s Up, onde foi anunciado o fim dos coordenados all black que dominaram os últimos grandes eventos de atribuição de prémios no cinema e televisão, como os Golden Globes ou os BAFTA. E a descrição não podia estar mais certa.

Em contraste com o encarnado clássico da passadeira vermelha, o cor-de-rosa, o branco e os metalizados estiveram em destaque entre as escolhas das estrelas. Veja-se o vestido Calvin Klein by Appointment de Saoirse Ronan, em rosa claro, ou o look Michael Kors Collection de Viola Davis, em rosa pastilha elástica; o fato Berluti de Timothée Chalamet ou o vestido Chanel de Margot Robbie e o Calvin Klein by Appointment de Laura Dern, em branco total; e ainda os looks metalizados dignos de heroínas, como o Givenchy de Gal Gadot, o Dior de Jennifer Lawrence ou o Versace de Lupita Nyong’o. Por sua vez, e em perfeita harmonia com o glamour da noite - nos coordenados de Allison Janney, vencedora do Óscar de Melhor Atriz Secundária, Meryl Streep, em Christian Dior, ou Sofia Carson, em Giambattista Valli,- o vermelho também foi protagonista de um dos momentos altos de estilo. 

Quanto aos vencedores nas principais categorias da noite, Sam Rockwell e Allison Janney conquistaram a estatueta de Melhor Ator e Atriz secundária, respetivamente; Gary Oldman e Frances McDormand conquistaram o Óscar de Melhor Ator e Melhor Atriz e, o mexicano Guillermo del Toro, venceu na categoria de Melhor Realizador.

Para surpresa de todos, Faye Dunaway e Warren Beatty voltaram ao palco do Teatro Dolby para apresentar o vencedor na categoria Melhor Filme. Desta vez, o grande vencedor foi The Shape of Water, de Guillermo del Toro, que venceu assim 4 das 13 categorias para as quais estava nomeado.
