Vogue Portugal's shopping tips for the month of June.

Vogue Portugal's shopping tips for June.

Summer in the cityIn the early 90s, Joe Cocker sang about summer in the city, and how the days were long, hot, and hard. At night, that same city would transform, and, as if by magic, anything could happen. To visit the great metropolises that seem to reinvent themselves in the hot season, it is best to bet on a casual chic wardrobe. “Dressed so fine and lookin' so pretty”: this is how we'll wander through miles of museums, esplanades, and avenues.

Ain’t no mountain high enoughUp there, many meters high, away from everything and everyone, you won't need much to fulfill the purpose of the trip: to rest. Those who choose to spend their vacations in the mountains know that the important thing is to reduce everything to the essentials (and that these essentials should preferably fit into a backpack) because nature, hiking, and meditation are not compatible with rigid dress codes. These are days of dolce fare niente at its best.

Safari, but make it fashionIt's not the easiest trip to plan, after all, it's not every day you wake up in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by lions and zebras, but that doesn't mean it has to be a headache. The most important things to take in your suitcase, besides mosquito repellent, are comfortable pieces that you can combine and, if necessary, wear in layers (temperatures can be unpredictable). Play it safe and go for earth tones, they always work well on safaris.

Vamos a la playaFortunately, we have reached a point where the only thing needed to have a “summer body” is: a) to have a body; b) to take it to the beach. After decades of body shaming, we finally appreciate our curves, whether they are more or less pronounced, and we welcome our joy in preparing a closet that celebrates our authenticity in the best way: with color, exuberant patterns, and high necklines. Long live summer, long live the sun, long live the sea.
