Go big or go home

For some reason they call them power shoulders. No one should underestimate the confidence that comes from wearing a garment with prominent shoulders. In elegant blazers or bolder leather jackets, the trend that dominated the 80s has matured and is ready to conquer the job market. Melanie Griffith in Working Girl (1988) would be proud.

Grey area

There is a shade of grey for every working mood. There's one that reflects the mood of someone returning to work after a two-week vacation. There's another that screams “this meeting could have been an email.” And the darkest of all is saved for when the coffee machine breaks down. In clothing, it's an even more versatile color, since it can be combined with yellows, burgundies, greens or pinks, to turn grey days into cheerful moments.

Leather weather

From the creators of sweater weather, comes a more elevated way of putting together an autumn outfit. Chloé, Prada, Alexander McQueen and Sportmax offer a second skin to those who dare to strip away their insecurities, instead wearing the epitome of power. Whether in small accessories or key pieces, leather is the ideal material for the transition between seasons.

Back to prep school

Goodbye textbooks, hello tweed jackets. The only lesson we're going to learn from this back-to-school season is one of style. We'll start by studying the icon of the preppy movement: Charlotte York, the small-screen character who, for the last 25 years, has shown that there's always room for a pencil skirt in the midst of sex and the city. Will this subject pass the test? As if!

Skirts over pants

For many years, no one would dare to conjugate this trend except in the past perfect: “I wore it, you wore it, we all wore it.” But in the cold season, skirts are once again overtaking pants in the present tense: “I wear them, you wear them, we all wear them.” After all, there's no more multifunctional look than this. From 9 to 5, pants lead the way to work. From 5 to 9, the skirt dictates the evening's entertainment.
