The trends for the month of June.

The trends for the month of June.

The future is now

The future has always been an obsession, so it is not surprising that after a semi-apocalypse (we talk about the pandemic, of course, but also the worsening of the climate situation, and the increase in inflation), designers have turned to the unknown and have tried to imagine it. From pixelated t-shirts (Loewe) to metalized dresses (Paco Rabanne), this spring/summer is dressed in retro-futuristic clothes and accessories, in unconventional ways, where excess, and a certain sense of strangeness, are never a problem to be eliminated. If this “dystopian fashion” is our way of saying (for the worst) count us in.

Life aquatic

The recent premiere of The Little Mermaid, one of the most anticipated films of the year, made waves all over the industry, which dived to the bottom of the oceans to seek inspiration for their spring/summer collections. The result was the brand new (but still ultra-famous) mermaid-core aesthetic, which mixes iridescent slip dresses, lace tops, corsets, Neptune-worthy accessories (think shells, pearls, and starfish), transparent fabrics, and blue and lilac sequins. Too much? No one said this mermaid was a fan of minimalism.

Golden hour

It is that moment just before the sun sets when the light is most intense and, for this very reason, unforgettable. The English call it “golden hour”, invoking in those two words memories and colors that anyone recognizes: the intense yellow, the bright orange, the soft mixture of the two, which results in a wonderful tone that we call “sunset shades.” Omnipresent on any designer's mood board as the warm season approaches, it is a trend that breathes optimism and, at the same time, a shot of energy, for the strong impact it conveys.
