Without apologizing, without asking for permission, the new Angel Elixir is the quintessential vehicle for personal expression. Hunter Schafer, one of the youngest icons of individuality, presents the classic fragrance reinvented by Mugler.

Without apologizing, without asking for permission, the new Angel Elixir is the quintessential vehicle for personal expression. Hunter Schafer, one of the youngest icons of individuality, presents the classic fragrance reinvented by Mugler.

In the beginning, it was Angel. When Thierry Mugler presented the first gourmand fragrance on the market in 1992, its sweet notes started a revolution in modern perfumery. It was no longer enough to create perfumes. They had to be real olfactory desserts. Angel quickly became an industry reference, a symbol of individuality. More than 30 years later, these fragrances continue to win the hearts (and noses) of new generations, being reinvented in the form of contemporary angels. “A contemporary angel is someone who moves with grace and power. Someone who is able to be soft, and use softness as a strength and as a power. Someone who harnesses the best of femininity, the best of masculinity, and everything in between, to propel their fantasies into reality.” Hunter Schafer declares these words with the same enthusiasm that led her to be the face of Angel Elixir, Mugler's new fragrance. The actor, known for her role as Jules in Euphoria, is a fierce supporter of personal expression, on and off screen. Passionate about fashion, Schafer rose to stardom as a model. Acting came by chance: “Acting was kind of really terrifying at first. It was not something I was anticipating for myself. I've ended up growing fond of it.” With roles already lined up for the future, Hunter Schafer wants to make it to the big screen, but without forgetting her first passions: “I'm enjoying riding this wave of performing at the moment but drawing and illustrating and painting are my first loves. It's the first language I really learned how to speak artistically in.”

Regardless of the area that dominates her career, Hunter Schafer does not neglect the influence of fashion and, in particular, Mugler: “Mugler feels formative as part of my artistic identity.” Now, the actor is also part of the brand's identity, presenting the fragrance that, according to her, is the “sister” of the iconic eau de parfum Angel. “Elixir takes us into this brighter and creamier world with the additions of metallic spices and this white floral explosion, sandalwood, and vanilla infusion.” By sharing the same woody base, one can recognize the similarities between the two fragrances, but, in Angel Elixir, the formula developed by Thierry Mugler is given the contrasts of the present. “I like its unique take on femininity. [Elixir] recognizes the duality of femininity, the complexity of it. There are sweet components of the Angel Elixir scent that are matched with bright and woody, more intense elements”, explains Schafer, who compares these scent notes to a “a warm nebula, a space that’s milky and cozy and warm”. The comparison is not arbitrary: stars are born in nebulas. The new Angel Elixir may not be a gift from heaven, but from its addicting essence to its classic packaging, it doesn't lack angelic qualities. It simply missed a powerful face. With Hunter Schafer, the constellation is now complete. And with Angel Elixir, we will reach space.
