Not slow - fast. There is a line that separates serenity from deep sleep, the peak of creativity while we snooze, and this line is called REM - rapid eye movement.
This phase of the sleep cycle differs from the others in that it is characterized by intense brain activity, one only comparable to the one that happens when we are awake. In other words, nonsense and absence of logic takes over a notion that seems real: dreams are eccentric and surreal, the infinite possibilities and creative impulses know no censorship - and we don't even realize that we are dreaming. It is absurd. Photography by Frederico Martins. Directed by Larissa Marinho.
